Anahata Seeks New Members

Anahata is looking for a few good people to join our community. The right people will feel a calling to the vision and the land, be mature, creative and contributive, deeply aligned with compassionate connection, sustainability – i.e. organic farming and permaculture, and the activities of a retreat and education center offering transformational experiences. Community membership involves one business meeting and one connection meeting per week, potlucks and events, teamwork on community projects, service hours of 20+ hours per month, $400 per month contribution. Your own furnished apartment with a full bath and kitchenette, plus access to our beautiful community center, 35 acres of pristine wooded splendor bordering the little river, and participation in our many evolutionary events. This is a passion and a mission, not just a place to live! We especially welcome green builders, organic farmers, mentors/teachers/healers, and those ready to buy into the land and become permanent residents and trustees. Contact Ashera and see our website at AnahataCommunityCenter.com for further information.

Internships Available!

Anahata is seeking interns to come participate in community life and work projects of all kinds.  We are a year-round internship and cultural exchange program!  Projects might include stonework, childcare, painting, carpentry, eventing, web/computer/publicity work, landscaping, beautification/artistry, garden and greenhouse work, building projects, guest hosting services, and other permaculture projects on the land.  Your skills, interests and ambitions will factor into the equation!  Collaboration, mentoring and support are amply provided.

Participants typically work a half a day (4 hours) in exchange for room and board.  Hours can be flexed.  We play on Sundays!  Local transportation can be provided.  Our interns may stay in our Bliss Cabin, a riverside tent, or another space in our buildings or on the land. You are then welcome to participate in community activities and events, Floyd area culture, swim or kayak on the river, etc.  We typically have potluck dinners and provide foods for you to prepare for breakfast and lunch.  We are part of Workaway.info and the WWOOF movement — World Wide Opportunities in Organic Farming!

For more information and to start the communication process, contact Ashera at KathrynAshera@gmail.com or call 571-422-3024.

About our presenters:  Stella Humphries and Charles Kouns have been exploring relationships through the lens of energetics for almost a decade. Their gift is in illuminating the powerful exchange occurring between people at the energetic level, which mostly remains hidden because we have been taught to see relationships in the physical. Greater awareness of the qualities and movements of energy that we constantly express and share leads to greater capacity to make choices in support of healing and creating richer, more nourishing connections. The foundation for their exploration is recently sourced material which they apply in their personal lives and which forms the basis of their professional transformational work with individuals, groups and organizations.  Charlie and Stella are also the co-founders of Butterfly Farm Sanctuary, in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina where they are evolving a spiritual retreat center.

a place of learning

  self-discovery

renewal & healing

  communion with nature

authentic connection

creative expression

celebration

nature immersion

inclusive spirituality

service to all

Anahata is a loving community and gathering place situated on 35 pristine acres in Floyd County, Virginia. We are incorporated as a church and education center, and consider ourselves to be a nature sanctuary as well.

Since 1995, we have explored the sacred interrelation of people, nature and the cosmos.  We have striven to create a sustainable and mutually thrivant connection with nature and each other.  We invite you to come explore, learn and share with us as we live from the ‘Anahata’ – a Sanskrit word for the heart center.
