
Luke Staengl
Luke was the original landowner at Anahata. He began the community and has been a pillar of the community throughout its many iterations and processes. A longtime supporter of the progressive community in Floyd, Luke has helped to found Blue Ridge Mountain School and the Sustain Floyd Farmer’s Market, the main Saturday market in downtown Floyd. He serves on the board of multiple Floyd organizations. In addition, Luke has been the driving force behind several high technology environmental companies since 1979. He founded and served as chief executive officer of three companies involved in converting biomass to fuel, fiber, feed and other high value products. Throughout the 1980s he also played a very active role as an advocate for renewable fuels and sustainable technologies.

Aaron Ananta Staengl
Aaron has spent most of his life at Anahata, and sees community as one of the ‘master units’ of sustainable culture. Aaron has been doing art most of his life in many different mediums and has a background in massage, Ayurveda, herbology, graphic design, and fine art. He attended the Florida School of Massage, the Ayurvedic Institute, Virginia Western Community collage and attained honers and awards. He has travelled extensively through India and Bali, Indonesia. He has designed numerous posters, magazine covers, cd covers, brochures, logos and has his own business called “Ayurveda Posters” which combines spirituality, art and the ancient science of self healing known as Ayurveda.See some of Aaron’s inspiring sacred healing arts posters at: http://ayurvedaposters.com/. Spirituality is his main inspiration and he continuously strives to express it through art. Stephanie Sky (Carr)
Stephanie Sky is a mama, doula, yoga teacher, herbalist and artist. She is a birth/postpartum doula & lactation enthusiast. A doula is a woman who is trained to assist another woman during childbirth and who may provide support to the family after the baby is born. She honors the ancient wisdom of Mothers before us and is called to pass along the strength and empowerment of Mothers & Fathers to be.
If you are even the slightest bit interested in natural birth, don’t hesitate to contact her! She has completed her 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training program led by The Yoga Viva, an amazing herbalism based yoga teacher training. She loves offering various healing techniques for her students so they can use them in their everyday lives. Whether she’s teaching a group of preschoolers, elderly or anywhere in between, you will leave her class with a better understanding of your mind, body and your connection with Mother Earth. Stephanie also has skills in making things beautiful & creating upcycled art. If you need to freshen up your space, whether it’s your backyard or your living room she can help. Here at the Anahata Stephanie helps with many aspects of building an online presence, beautifying the property and developing public relations throughout Floyd County! She is actively pursuing life as the community herbalist, making remedies and studying plants on a daily basis. One of the most unique qualities about Stephanie is that she is a hula hoop teacher! She makes, sells and teaches people of all ages, shapes and sizes how to hula hoop and has a 100% success rate. She is ready to SHARE these gifts with the community!

Leilani Bella Carr
Leilani is 3 & 1/2 years old and loves to play, sing, dance and make all kinds of art! She is very well spoken and can hold a conversation with anyone. She loves Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, going to school and all of her friends and family. Her favorite foods are basil, macaroni and cheese and cake. Leilani has lived in 2 communities in her 3 years of life and is a radiant bright light and loves to help!
